Shepherd of the Hills is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), a cooperating group of Lutheran congregations headquartered near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since 1858, WELS has been working together to do, as a whole, what individual congregations cannot do. They train pastors, teachers, and other ministerial staff. They send pastors and missionaries all over the world, from Taipei,Taiwan to Winchester, Virginia. They publish excellent theological and practical resources for the Church. They do considerable relief work wherever there is need. Shepherd of the Hills is proud to be a member congregation in the WELS.
